Honor Roads has been truly blessed with mentors who, over the past 8 years before our incorporation as a non-profit, provided outstanding mentorship and support to veterans in need.

Today, these dedicated individuals are a critical part of our organization’s leadership, development, compliance, and growth. Love for our heroes has been at the heart of the successes the organization has achieved over the years.

The Board of Directors is comprised of seasoned professionals with a strong commitment to serving veterans and addressing the truck driver shortage. The team collaborates closely to ensure the effective implementation of educational assistance, job placement support, and mentorship for our veterans.

John Crawford

Founder & CEO

First Lieutenant John Crawford has an outstanding background, blending 14 years HONORABLE military service with 25 years entrepreneurship, and industry experience. His diverse expertise in the Oil and Gas and trucking and transportation sectors, combined with a deep commitment to veteran-focused initiatives, makes him uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change for veterans in need.

John collaborates with the leadership of trucking companies to facilitate and secure corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and employment opportunities for our veterans.

Maddie Alligood

Volunteer Social Media Manager

Maddie is responsible for the company’s social media presence, including creating and maintaining content, developing strategies to increase followers, and responding to comments. She also manages company information, brand promotions, and marketing campaigns.

Anthony Consoldane

Board Director, US Air Force Veteran

Anthony Consoldane is a dedicated disabled veteran with 27 years of exemplary Federal service, including a distinguished military career and ongoing contributions at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Throughout his career, Anthony has consistently demonstrated his commitment to serving and advocating for veterans. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business, further equipping him with the skills and knowledge to effectively support and enhance veterans’ services. Anthony’s unwavering dedication to veterans’ welfare underscores his role as a valuable member of our board.

Pam Shurley

Board Director, Treasurer
Pamela Kyzar Shurley is a retired sales executive for AT&T with over 35 years of experience in business and governmental relations. She was in charge of AT&T’s 9-1-1 sales for the State of Louisiana and later for critical agencies within the State. She brings with her valuable experience in business relations and personal interaction with others. Pamela has faced family addiction issues in the past and is dedicated to helping those who currently face homelessness and addiction on a day to day basis.

Richard Shurley

Board Director

Richard Shurley is a retired senior vice president at a mid-size newspaper with over 43 years of experience in the management of technology, newspaper operations and major construction projects. He holds a BA in Business with minors in Accounting and Economics at Louisiana State University and is currently pursuing a BA in Construction management also at LSU. Richard’s Father was a member of “The Greatest Generation” and went ashore at Omaha Beach during D-Day. This has instilled a great respect for veterans and an ongoing desire to help and support them as they face the problems of transitioning to public life.

Bhaskar Sarapella

Board Director

Bhaskar is a senior level Information Technology professional and Enterprise Architect with over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

Tori Rhodes

Board Director, US Marines Veteran

Tori is an honorably discharged combat US Marine, and a distinguished officer with Houston’s Police Department. She has over 15 years’ experience working with homeless and previously incarcerated veterans in Texas.

Justin Jackson

Board Director

Justin Jackson is a retired technology executive who spent his last 15 years running a technology and business consulting company specializing in bleeding edge technology in the corporate space. Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson had a passion for helping those less fortunate and created a charitable organization attached to his consulting business to help give back to the local community through various programs. After selling his company, he now spends his time serving on several charities and non-profits, running his family farm, managing an aviation management and leasing company which also oversees a 501(c)7 social club centered around aviation.

Margarita Arentsen

Board Director

Margarita Arentsen holds a BA in neuroscience with a minor in chemistry. She is a licensed bilingual teacher, licensed clinical social worker, licensed chemical dependency counselor, and trauma-informed specialist with over 27 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors of diverse backgrounds.
